I first saw Photo of Sudanese girl and vulture in college and have been haunted by the image every since.   I can’t wait for this movie, not only because the movie delves into the history of that photo but it incorporates two of my favorite things, South Africa and Photography.

I’ll freely admit I loved the first Transformers.  I’ll also admit I saw the second Transformers on opening weekend and promptly fell asleep in the theater.  I do have some hope for this third installment.  First and most importantly, Michael Bay realized that the second movie sucked real bad.  And I quote, “When I look back at it, that was crap.”  It sure was, Michael Bay.  Second, they filmed in Chicago.  I don’t care what anyone says, it’s kind of awesome to see your city get blown to smithereens on film.  The Dark Knight anyone?  Plus some of my former students were interns on the set.  And third, no Megan Fox (although her replacement looks enough like her that some viewers may actually be confused.)  Fingers crossed!

Well, it’s been about two years since I’ve posted any trailers.  Not that anyone actually reads this but it feels good to start again.  Here is Buck.  This movie looks like solid gold.  To be fair, I love horses and I know this movie is going to make me want to go out and become a cowgirl, but I think this is going to have a much wider appeal than girls who always wished they had a pony.  I think it’s going to be a lovely story, plain and simple, and that’s something everyone can get on board.

I want to see a Michael Moore movie without Michael Moore.  And I don’t think I’m the only one.  His in-your-face shock tactics grind at my nerves and I even  agree with what he has to say!  I was sceptical when I first started watching this trailer but in the middle when I didn’t hear or see Michael Moore I was intrigued.  But then he was back.  And then I remembered why I didn’t go see his last movie.  Here is my plea to Michael Moore- stop hogging your movies.  They shouldn’t be about you, they should be about the issue at hand.  Thanks.

To be fair, I’m not a huge fan of the story of Alice in Wonderland but it’s Tim Burton and Johnny Depp!  It has to be good, right?!?!  Well I’m not 100% sure. I know this will seem mutinous but the one big thing I don’t like about this trailer is, wait for it, Johnny Depp.  Dare I say, it’s too weird?  I’m not sure what it is but I’m not the biggest fan.  That being said, I will probably see this movie opening weekend anyways because when has Tim Burton led me astray (let’s forget about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)…

So, I will be honest here.  I’m sure this will be a very predictable movie.  Ellen Page will be awkward and snarky.  She’ll get the boy and become who she was always meant to be.  But you know what?  I don’t care.  Roller Derby is too awesome.  After watching this trailer I want to strap up some skates and do some damage.  And that feels good.

I’m still not sure what this movie is about.  I am sure the trailer is brilliant.

But that is expected from the Coen Brothers, who let’s face it, are fucking brilliant themselves.

Could this be the worst movie of the year?  I think it might be.

Love Happens.  So do horrible movies.

Gael Garcia Bernal?  Diego Luna?  Where do I sign up!

I love Mos Def and Donald Faison.  Why oh why do they have to be in this atrocity.  I’m so sick of almost every movie that features a predominately African-American cast following such stereotypes.  Crime.  Drugs.  Violence. I’m sick of Hollywood believing this is the only thing audiences will want to watch.
